Documents to gather in the UAE
- Police clearance certificate (Dubai)Issued by: Dubai PolicePublished fee: AED 200 for a resident, plus a AED 20 knowledge and innovation fee; AED 100 more in personValid for three months from issue, so time it close to filing.
- Police clearance certificate (elsewhere in the UAE)Issued by: Ministry of Interior, or Abu Dhabi Police for Emirates ID holdersApplied for online. Neither body publishes a current fee on a page we could read.
- Emirates ID copyIssued by: Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port SecurityResidents can renew when less than six months remain, so check the expiry date first.
- Passport copiesIssued by: Your home country, not a UAE bodyHow copies must be certified is set by each programme; your agent will confirm.
- Bank letters and statementsIssued by: Your bank; no government feeThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists bank statements among the personal documents it can attest.
- Salary certificate or employment letterIssued by: Your employer; no government feeEmployment documents are also on the ministry's list of attestable personal documents.
- Birth and marriage certificatesIssued by: The issuing country, then the UAE embassy there, then the UAE Ministry of Foreign AffairsFees charged by the issuing country and by UAE missions abroad vary and are not listed here.
- Attestation of UAE-issued documentsIssued by: UAE Ministry of Foreign AffairsPublished fee: AED 150 per personal documentCertifies signatures and seals for use abroad; apply on mofa.gov.ae or the ministry's app.
